Welcome to the start of fall. This month’s newsletter contains information on the following:

1. Chaplin Station construction

Metrolinx recently held an Open House at the Holy Blossom Temple on Bathurst to present the public with their plans for constructing the future Chaplin Station along the Crosstown LRT line.

2. Digital Main Street

Over the summer, 23 businesses from The Eglinton Way onboarded to Digital Main Street. The program has helped these businesses assess their digital readiness and immediately enhance their web presence by getting online.

If you’re interested in using digital tools or technologies to grow your business but aren’t sure where to start, Digital Main Street can help. Digital Main Street (DMS) is a free online business support program launched in partnership with TABIA (Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas) and The City of Toronto.

If your goals are to increase sales and engage customers, here are 3 ways joining Digital Main Street can help:

  1. DMS gives you a Digital Assessment of your business’s strengths and weaknesses, along with next-step recommendations on how to adopt digital tools yourself or connections to trusted service providers who can help.
  2. You can stay up-to-date on the newest technologies through a relevant newsfeed of free articles, case studies, and exclusive events and seminars.
  3. When you join, you can access many exclusive discounts and deals that are available from trusted service providers.

3. Small Business Forum


Produced by the The City of Toronto and Enterprise Toronto, the small business and technology forum provides educative seminars and discussions on how technology is changing the way small businesses operate.

When: Tuesday Oct 25, 2016 from 9am – 4pm
Where: Toronto Metro Convention Center
Cost: Free, but registration is required


4. Mural Unveiling at Art Bar

Art Barn School was awarded a grant through StreetArt (an agency of the City of Toronto) to paint murals on the Field House at Eglinton Park this summer and will be unveiling the murals on Sept 24, 2016. This project was also made possible by a donation from the North Toronto Soccer Club.

Feature artists include Jim Thierry Bravo, his assistant artist Lula Lumaj and Art Barn’s talented Marshal McLuhan student artists for their excellent work.

The event will be held in conjuction with North Toronto Soccer Club’s annual celebration.
