What Work is Happening?

Hours of Work

Work will begin as early as Monday, October 2, 2017.

The entire process will last approximately 1.5 months, anticipated to be complete by November 17, 2017.

Work will occur during the daytime hours: Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 11 PM o Saturdays, 8 AM to 11 PM o Sundays, 9 AM to 9 PM

Drilling the Bore Holes

Holes will be drilled into the roadway and down into the tunnels on the south side of Eglinton, just east of Highbourne Avenue.

The equipment must remain at the work site overnight during the drilling period, so the curb lane will remain closed overnight.

The holes will then be covered with steel plates that will be flush with the road surface.

Pouring the Concrete

A work zone will be set up around the concrete trucks as they pour.

There will be an increase truck flow to deliver the concrete to the site.  Once the concrete pouring is complete the roadway holes will be filled and restored.

Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Lane reductions will be in place on Eglinton Avenue West in the vicinity of the construction zone.

Left turns from Highbourne Road onto Eglinton Avenue West will be restricted during the drilling work.

A traffic control person will be present.

Some on-street parking spaces will be impacted.
