The name "EG" is an abbreviation of Exempli Gratia, or "For Example", which mirrors both the local community identity on Eglinton, and the piece's ovoid egg shape - a symbol of reproduction and birth.

Viewers are encouraged to explore over 60 faces, shapes and symbols, which have been carved by the artist and by public participants through his open workshops.  Together, the pieces tell a unique story.

The sculpture represents a coming together of people to share, reconnect and engage in public space in a meaningful way, creating a sense of belonging.

Beginning in 2019, The Eglinton Way Business Improvement Association began to invest in Artwalk, a public art installation on our street. The goal over the next 5 years is to bring 25 of these art installations (sculptures, statures, murals) into the neighborhood. It will be a beautiful place to walk, learn, experience, shop and enjoy.
